Building an Accessible Digital Community: Togetherall’s Approach

User accessibility requirements have been an important focal point at Togetherall, since the inception of Togetherall’s version 2 platform in 2020. Togetherall is available to hundreds of thousands of students across the United States, Canada, United Kingdom and Ireland. That means that our Education partners, and in turn, Togetherall is responsible to ensure that we can provide an accessible digital space for all students to be supported with their wellbeing. This is closely aligned to our belief that no one should be excluded from access to support.

That’s why Togetherall is committed to ensuring that we develop and maintain our platform, website and digital assets in line with accessibility guidelines, such as Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), currently to the AA 2.2 standard. As well as adhering to regional regulations such as the upcoming additions to the Americans with Disabilities Act Title II. The title is set to ensure web content, digital assets and mobile apps meet WCAG 2.1 AA from April 24, 2026, for state and local government population sizes over 50,000.

How does Togetherall maintain its accessibility standards?

We are firm in the viewpoint that accessibility needs to be embedded at each stage of our product and marketing processes. At Togetherall user accessibility requirements are considered at the planning, design, development and testing phases of changes and new releases to our platform and website. We have also recently made an internal commitment to build the accessibility standards into our digital marketing materials. These documents are important as they may well be the entry point to our website or services for many visitors.

While accessibility is considered at various points within our internal product and marketing teams we also partner with an external team of accessibility experts to help validate our efforts towards user accessibility. Our accessibility partner completes sample audits across our service, on a periodic basis. Testing areas of our platform and website on mobile and desktop using different types of assistive technology, such as screen readers.

We could choose to audit our service internally, although we believe in the added value of partnering with an independent team of experts gives us that extra validation that we continue to get a lot of things right and it also helps us to identify areas we can improve. Not only from a user experience point of view, it also means that we can identify ways in which we can upskill our teams.

Togetherall’s commitment to accessibility and our decision to invest in expert led accessibility audits are just another reason why you can trust Togetherall to be your digital service of choice, to support your people and their wellbeing.

Which parts of Togetherall’s service are accessible?

Togetherall designs and develops its platform and website in line with the WCAG 2.2 AA Standard. From April 24, 2026 we will be proud to say that our vast number of much loved digital assets will also meet these standards. If you are an existing customer or are looking to make Togetherall available to your population, we would be happy to discuss accessibility and / or share with you our Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT) which details what we already do well and areas in which we are working to improve our service. We have in the past and continue to welcome accessibility testing from our customers, we think its important to focus on a collaborative approach and we are grateful to the people who support us in striving to making Togetherall a place for everyone.
