William College provides digital peer-to-peer support for diversified student body

William College adds online peer-based support network for students

We are thrilled to announce that students at William College can now access a clinically moderated mental health support resource. Through a collaboration withTogetherall, students can engage with a global community of peers, giving and getting peer support in a safe and anonymous online environment, available 24/7/365.

William College, based in the heart of London, caters to a diversified student body. Many of the College’s students are older than traditional university age, neurodiverse or disabled, come from low-income backgrounds, and travel from international home bases. Caring for such a wide range of mental health needs can be challenging, but the Wellbeing Team at William College is always looking for fresh and innovative ways to efficiently reach and care for their students; that is when they decided to explore Togetherall’s service.

One of the hallmarks of Togetherall that sets it apart from comparable offerings is its round-the-clock clinical moderation – that is, real, live, licensed clinicians overseeing the platform and intervening with at-risk conversations when necessary. This is especially critical in a population where the students are more vulnerable.

In speaking to the importance to the clinical oversight component of Togetherall’s service, Bibiana Barcakova and Surbhi Tyagi, Wellbeing Officers on William College’s Wellbeing Team shared, Clinical moderation ensures the safety of students who may be vulnerable or in crisis. Clinicians can recognize early signs and provide timely intervention and support.”

To support students’ mental health, William College has several existing services in place, including Wellbeing & Mental Health Advisors. The Advisors offer guidance, referrals, and wellbeing check-ins. Bibiana and Surbhi said, “Togetherall will serve as a 24/7 extension of this service, ensuring students have support outside working hours.”

William College also runs mental health awareness campaigns, workshops, and self-care programs. Bibiana and Surbhi said, “Togetherall will integrate with these initiatives by offering self-guided courses and interactive tools to reinforce mental health education.”

“Togetherall bridges the gap between informal and formal support for students who may feel hesitant about accessing professional services, acting as a low-barrier, anonymous starting point for them,” shared Bibiana and Surbhi. “With international students, neurodiverse individuals, and those from marginalized backgrounds, Togetherall ensures inclusive, culturally sensitive peer support. Therefore, by integrating Togetherall into our current support framework, we strengthen our commitment to holistic student wellbeing, ensuring that all students, regardless of background or personal barriers, have access to immediate, confidential, and effective mental health support.”

Finally, Bibiana and Surbhi shared William College’s Wellbeing Team’s goals for the future and how Togetherall’s service aligns with those aspirations:

“We partnered with Togetherall to enhance our commitment to student mental health by offering a secure, inclusive, and 24/7 support platform. Our goal is to provide students with the tools, resources, and community they need to thrive, ensuring their wellbeing remains a priority throughout their academic journey.”

Togetherall is thrilled to partner with William College, and we are honored to support their students throughout this academic year and beyond.
