Togetherall appointed to APUC framework to expand access to safe, clinically moderated student wellbeing support across Scotland colleges and universities

Togetherall is thrilled to announce it has been appointed first place in APUC’s Student Assistance and Support Services Framework, Lot 2, Student Wellbeing Tool. Togetherall is now available to Scottish colleges and universities seeking to expand access to student wellbeing support.

The three-year framework provides Scottish universities, colleges, and other participating bodies with a mechanism to procure student support and wellbeing services.

For Scottish institutions, the framework provides a simpler route to accessing Togetherall as part of a broader student mental health and wellbeing strategy. Rather than replacing existing services, Togetherall can complement established support pathways by providing students with safe, immediate, anonymous access to peer support – particularly those who may not engage with on-campus services.

Reaching students who may otherwise be missed

Students do not always seek help through traditional routes. Some may be reluctant to contact a counselling service, face barriers to accessing appointments, or simply prefer to talk to people who understand what they are experiencing.

Togetherall provides an alternative entry point: an anonymous, digital, peer-to-peer community where students can connect with others, share experiences, and access support at any time – all in a safe space moderated by licensed clinicians 24/7.

For institutions, this creates an opportunity to extend their wellbeing offer beyond the students who actively present to campus-based services – and to provide support across the wider student population.

Safety and clinical oversight at the centre

The APUC framework places clear emphasis on responsible procurement, including data protection, equality and diversity, sustainable business operations, community benefits and added-value services. The framework also recognises the importance of risk and crisis response, with successful suppliers offering services 24/7.

For student mental health, this focus on safety and duty of care is particularly important. Togetherall was selected through a tender process that evaluated service delivery, data protection, pricing, community benefits, and added value, as well as sustainability.

Togetherall’s clinically moderated model provides institutions with the reassurance of professional oversight alongside the benefits of peer support. This combination is designed to make digital support accessible at scale while maintaining the safety, governance, and escalation processes expected within a responsible student wellbeing service.

What this means for Scottish colleges and universities

Through APUC’s framework, eligible institutions can now access Togetherall through established procurement routes, with call-off options including direct award, desktop evaluation, and mini-competition.

The appointment gives Scottish colleges and universities an opportunity to:

  • Expand access to mental health and wellbeing support beyond traditional campus-based services.
  • Reach students who may not engage with existing services, providing an alternative and anonymous route to support – helping the students you never see.
  • Complement counselling and other established provisions, helping create a broader, more accessible support ecosystem.
  • Provide clinically moderated peer support at population scale, with safety, duty of care, and risk escalation built into the model.
  • Procure support through an established APUC framework, reducing barriers to introducing an additional student wellbeing service.

APUC’s framework is available to its members, covering Scottish universities, colleges, and other participating bodies.

The appointment marks an important opportunity for Scotland’s higher and further education sector: to think beyond traditional models of student support and make safe, accessible mental health support available wherever and whenever students need it.
