Big White Wall brings first of its kind online mental health support to Albertans

29 May 2020 | By Jessica Smith

We are excited to announce today that our online mental health support community is now available to citizens of Alberta, Canada, 16+ in a province-wide partnership with Alberta Health and Alberta Health Services.

It’s the first of its kind in the province and Big White Wall (BWW) will be supporting hundreds of thousands of young people and adults struggling with symptoms of depression, anxiety, stress, and a host of other mental health concerns. Being able to access the digital platform from anywhere at any time is helpful as COVID-19 significantly impacts Canadians’ mental health.

Already present in Ontario, the new partnership expands BWW’s footprint in Canada.

“We are thrilled to be working with AHS and to know the service will be available to even more Canadians, especially during this exceptionally challenging time,” said Matt McEvoy, BWW SVP and General Manager North America. “The emotional and financial stress that people are coping with is unprecedented. It’s now more important than ever that we take care of ourselves so we’re able to take care of others as well.”

The partnership between BWW and AHS aims to support Albertans by offering accessible, 24/7 support to those who are struggling amidst the pandemic, as a complement to usual support systems.
